Mental health is an area of practice that all professionals will come across in their working lives and may be required to develop quality interventions in their own areas of professional practice. Mental health affects all ages and cultures and requires skilful and knowledgeable interventions to foster recovery.

Poor mental health is a leading cause of DALYs (Disability Adjusted Life Years) or years lost to illness, according to the World Health Organisation.

We have our own inter-professional Centre for Mental Health and Society that focuses upon current local and global research topics.
