Pharmaceutical science focuses on formulation strategies for current and future drug therapies and medicinal products. Encompassing a range of scientific disciplines such as chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacology, toxicology and physiology, this specialist area of study is crucial for the safe and effective design, development, production, and regulation of medicines.
During your time on this course, you will encounter a broad range of experiences designed to enhance your skills and knowledge. You’ll receive specialist training in a broad range of topics such as drug discovery, drug dosage form and design, and chemotherapy and selective toxicity. Ensuring you possess the necessary skills of a pharmaceutical scientist before embarking on your own final research project.

Applicants must possess a good honours degree (minimum lower 2nd class) from a recognised university in one of the following subjects (or a related field): Pharmacy; pharmaceutical science; pharmacology; physiology; physical science; biochemistry; biotechnology; chemistry; chemical engineering; genetics; materials science; medicine.
Applicants whose first language is not English will be required to provide evidence of an English language qualification. English language test requirements may be waived where students’ undergraduate degree was studied in an English speaking country.
