Summary
Nobody is immune to trauma; it can affect everyone in some form or another. Understanding the nature of psychological trauma is paramount in helping those who are suffering the most. It's a challenging and complex occupation, but has many rewarding and life changing moments.
Our Trauma Informed Practice MA provides you with the core knowledge and theory needed to become a professional in the field of trauma. You'll explore models of psychological trauma and consider how trauma impacts on mind and body.
You will enhance your knowledge of childhood trauma and adversity, as well as understand the life-long implications this can have on person’s wellbeing.
You will be able to draw from the broad range of existing knowledge, skills and research of staff and colleagues in the Centre for Trauma, Resilience and Growth.
Upon completion of the course, you'll be equipped with the skills of understanding trauma and have the capacity to develop research and evidence based practice to help those who are suffering.
This course starts every two years. The next start date is September 2024.

Entry requirements | 2:2 (or international equivalent) in a helping-related discipline. Applicants with a degree in any other discipline must have at least one year of practice providing trauma-related support and will be considered on an individual basis. IELTS: 6.5 (no less than 6.0 in any element). |
