Summary
This programme prepares you for a career as an educator in professional practice. It has been developed in response to demand from our local NHS trust and private healthcare providers. It uses the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) standards for learning and assessment as its framework.
You will develop your skills and knowledge so that you can facilitate and coordinate learning activities in practice settings with other like-minded professionals from a range of healthcare backgrounds. You can also develop your career as a leader of education environments. The programme can be the first step towards a PG Dip or MSc in Education and Leadership.
Students will usually have prior experience as a mentor or assessor, as well as evidence of academic study within the past five years. However, all applications will be considered on individual merit.

Entry requirements | Typically you are expected to have a good Honours degree (2:2) in nursing, midwifery or another relevant discipline, plus appropriate experience in a professional environment. In order to ensure our students have a rich learning and student experience, most of our programmes have a mix of domestic and international students. We reserve the right to close applications early to either group, if application volumes suggest that this blend cannot be achieved. In addition, existing undergraduate students at the University of Hull have a guaranteed ‘Fast Track’ route to any postgraduate programme, subject to meeting the entry criteria (excluding Social Work). |
