**WHAT YOU WILL LEARN**
The programme will focus on Inclusion/SEND; you will explore ways in which all pupils, including those with special educational needs and disabilities, can be included in classrooms and schools. You will examine the concepts and ideas that underpin the Inclusion agenda within the political context of education in the UK. In particular, you will focus on the causes of marginalisation, and the reasons why a substantial number of pupils fail to achieve consistently or well within that system.
The main focus will be on SEND, through an examination of current policy and practice, including the Children and Families Act( 2014) and the SEND Code of Practice 0 to 25 (2015), the graduated response in schools, and multi-agency collaboration. You will consider the implications of the four areas of need identified in the Code of Practice, and how these influence and determine appropriate responses within classroom practice. .
