Build on your existing academic knowledge and professional experience and gain a critical awareness of issues in Environmental psychology, health and wellbeing.

This course allows you to work in a flexible way, studying online at a time and place that suits you. You will be invited to attend residentials in Ambleside, an optional element of your studies that allows you to engage in face to face activities and develop your practice.

COURSE OVERVIEW Our innovative programme provides the first step to enable you to pursue a career in fields related to environmental psychology or health and wellbeing. We’ve earned a great reputation nationally for our cutting edge research methods and you'll be taught to use differing and specialist methods, equipping you for future challenges and advancing your career prospects. This pathway brings together both subjective and objective wellbeing by looking at the interaction of mental health and the environment with wellbeing.

This course is delivered either distance learning, or face to face at our Fusehill campus in Carlisle. At three points during the year, you will be invited to attend optional week-long residentials at our Ambleside campus (Outdoor Spaces Health and Wellbeing; Environmental Psychology; and a dissertation planning week).

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN On this programme, you will develop your specialist knowledge and understanding of contemporary theory and professional practice in social sciences. During this time, you will explore the influence research, policies, and practice have on your chosen discipline.

This course is delivered either distance learning, or face to face at our Fusehill campus in Carlisle. Additionally, at three points during the year you will be invited to attend optional week-long residentials at our Ambleside campus (Outdoor Spaces Health and Wellbeing; Environmental Psychology; and a dissertation planning week). These residentials and face-to-face learning opportunities aim to support your application of theory and social skills within a simulated practice environment. This is also a fantastic opportunity to access on-site facilities, physical resources (such as the library and labs) and meet your tutors.
