This course is accredited by the Association for Nutrition (AfN).

How you learn: All our courses are designed around a set of key principles based on engaging you with the world, collaborating with others, challenging you to think in new ways, and providing you with a supportive environment in which you can thrive.

This course aims to develop your theoretical and practical skills ready for industry. It is based around four major strands — covering core and specialist knowledge, as well as employability and research skills.

We use a student-centred approach. The course content is delivered by experts and has been designed to equip you with the relevant expertise and experience you need for employment.

The teaching team uses their own research and professional backgrounds to bring the theoretical content to life and ensure that you learn about the latest developments in the field.

You learn through:

  • lectures

  • tutorials

  • seminars

  • laboratory classes

  • counselling simulations

  • workshops

Applied learning - Live projects Throughout the course, you’ll take part in activities centred on giving you real industry experience and improving your professional development. These might include work shadowing and volunteering, working on live weight or obesity management projects, or attending relevant conferences, events and workshops.

You then complete a work-related learning module to reflect on personal and professional development. You will be required to identify these areas in an action plan and identify objectives and activities to undertake.
