Masters FundingI have a place on an MSc in Investment Management for 2010 and tuition fees are £20k....
Any suggestions as to where I can find some funding...? Thanks
Re: Masters FundingHi,
Where are you studying and are you an international student?
Re: Masters FundingHi there funding is a bit odd i have found as it seems to be a bit of a lottery. i think the best way is to google 'postgrad bursaries' and 'postgraduate scholarshisps' and see what comes up, i applied for general ones and then emailed the univeristy i applied to to see what they had on offer. i think i applied for about 8 in total and got one £500.00 award in the end but it was very helpful as it meant i didn't have to find a job for the first 2 months which helped me settle into the course more. I found some on this site too see http://www.postgrad.com/editorial/bursaries/

Re: Masters FundingHi all,
I am Kholod from Jordan an international students, looking for full funding to MA in Advertising Design Management in University of Southampton since three years, and every year receive acceptance from University of Southampton, but unfortunatly untill now I did not find any funding I looked through many websites for funding. Please any one who knows how to find full funding to send to me. Many thanks
Re: Masters FundingYes I understand it is very difficult to get funding but one way of doing it is leafleting all the local streets nearby and in the summer holiday asking for all sorts of jobs such as babysitting, cleaning, childcare, admin work. This has worked for me and it was hard at first but then things came in.
The best thing to do is to put on the leaflet where you live and where you are studying as that will make people felt comfortable using you as you will be considered a neighbour. Now I have about £400.00 of work lined up so far at £8.00 hour. You could also put a photo fo yourself on the leaflet and a list of jobs you are looking for. It is also better to send out as many of these as possible as well as speak to local businesses who may also be looking for someone to do odd jobs. Good luck!
Re: Masters FundingFunding a Masters and living costs as well is really hard. It's not ideal but I am funding my Masters by working part time in a pizza place. The one bonus is that I get free pizzas during my shift so I'm saving money on food... Still when I'm finally out there earning the big bucks I probably won't be able to stomach a pizza for quite some time!
Re: Masters FundingI am starting my masters in october and luckily got my fees covered by a loan but need to make some cash to afford living cost. i am working at the holiday inn in cambridge waitressing over the summer and planning to pick up a waitressing jobs in warwick when i go. The hourly rate isn't great but the tips can be quite handy especially with lots of Americans visiting cambridge - they tip really well. Still feel a bit stressed about cash though. Any better idaes please post them as want to have enough time to work on my msc and not just serving meals to tourists!!!.

Re: Masters FundingHello,
This is Anshula here from India. Am joining Bournemouth Univeristy starting this September , for MA Advertising and Marketing Communications. I have spoken to a lot of seniors and they say working part time can be difficult on my course , since there are a lot of assignments and class work and group work. But I really want to make up for atleast my living expenses and daily needs. How do I go about it? What are the rates like hourly ? And is only weekend work possible at coffe shops , subway etc ?? Hope to hear from someone soon. Anshula
