Does postgraduate study pay?

The type of people undertaking postgraduate study is also changing with more and more choosing to take part-time and distance learning options. In 2006, 40% of UK postgraduate students were over 30 and studying part-time.

So why are mature people studying postgraduate courses? There are a variety of reasons but the majority of part-time UK students over 30 say it’s to progress their career.

The sheer number of people undertaking postgraduate study is, for some, reason itself to increase their qualifications. Although there’s more to getting a job than qualifications, having a postgraduate qualification could greatly increase your chances of progressing your career.

So do postgraduate students earn more?
