

De Montfort University's Distinguished Lecture Series has become established as an important part of Leicestershire’s cultural calendar, with exceptional guest speakers from all corners of the UK’s cultural, business and governmental sectors. The lectures are free and open to anyone.
This year’s line-up includes such names as:
• the BBC’s Nicholas Owen, who rejoined the corporation in 2007 after ten years with ITV News

• Trevor Williams, Chief Economist at Lloyds TSB Corporate and member of the Shadow Monetary Policy Committee
• Denis Oswald, Executive Member of the International Olympic Committee and Director of the International Centre for Sports Studies, which coordinates the FIFA Master Course, taught in part by De Montfort University
• Sir George Cox, author of the Cox Review (of Creativity in UK Business) commissioned by Gordon Brown
• plus many more.
