Aberystwyth University is offering 12 awards to students applying for doctoral study. To be eligible you must be a UK or other EU fee payer, to have or expect to obtain at least upper second class honours in your first degree and to apply and be offered a place for doctoral study at Aberystwyth. Successful applicants will receive a grant for up to three years, which will cover their tuition fees and also provide them with a maintenance allowance of about £12,600. Furthermore, they will be given access to a travel and conference fund.
The deadline for the 2008 competition is 1 March 2008, although some departments have earlier deadlines (eg the deadline for Department of International Politics is 1 February 2008). The subject areas on offer at postgraduate level at Aberystwyth include:

Selection for the above awards will be based on the application for admission, including research proposal and two academic references.
