Liverpool Hope University

Liverpool Hope University is one of the oldest Higher Education institutions in the North West of England. It has a rich tradition stretching back over 150 years of opening up opportunities for a high standard and well rounded education.

Liverpool is a vibrant student city offering plenty of cultural, sporting and musical opportunities during your time at Liverpool Hope. This year Liverpool celebrates being the European Capital City of Culture, a title that will place Liverpool firmly on the global map. In January, the title was launched with a weekend of celebrations including performances from the former Beatle, Ringo Starr. A year of cultural activities is planned. It will be an exciting time to be in this city.

Liverpool Hope University offers the opportunity for advanced, often research-focused study in an expanding number of areas both for career enhancement and for purely personal interest. Much of our postgraduate provision is available on both a full time and part time basis (with some provision available at evenings and weekends).

Our commitment to lifelong learning means that high quality teaching and supervision characterise the experience of our postgraduates. We have an increasing number of staff at professorial level and associate professorial level who, in addition to their own research, are committed to excellence in teaching and learning, and engage actively with the graduate community. Our graduate community comes from all over the world including China, Malaysia, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and North America.

Liverpool Hope has a range of international scholarships available for students. These include a number of £1000 scholarships for students who have achieved the equivalent of a first class degree. A small number of scholarships which pay 50% of tuition fees are also available.

One of our graduates, Oscar Ayang has just graduated from Hope with an International MBA. Oscar works as an accountant in Nigeria and says of the IMBA

“The IMBA has really met all my expectations. I now accept managerial challenges, make professional decisions, appreciate the cultural differences apparent in business throughout the world. I feel very happy living in Liverpool. Hope has been wonderful and my heart’s desire is to study for a PhD.”

Liverpool Hope’s main campus is a mini education village. The campus is located in a pleasant suburb of Liverpool, about 4 miles from the city centre and from the airport. Our second campus, Hope at Everton is located on the outskirts of the city centre and accommodates all Hope’s Creative and Performing Arts programmes.

A range of high quality campus accommodation is available for students. For students who wish to work part time while they are studying, the Careers service can assist students with finding job opportunities locally.
There are opportunities for all postgraduates to engage in the wider academic life of the university. The Sheppard-Worlock Library has extensive opening hours and a dedicated research centre with computing facilities specifically for postgraduate students. Newly opened in 2007, the Research and Postgraduate Centre in the Alexander Jones Building provides facilities to study and relax.
