Derby is in the heart of England and only one and a half hours from London. We enjoy some of the lowest living costs in the UK, and Derby attracts the highest average salaries in the Midlands.
We have a student population of about 23,000 – 1,300 of these are overseas students from over 100 countries.
Fantastic facilities
We’ve spent over £75 million on facilities in the last few years to ensure that you’ll be studying in the best environment possible. There’s our new building for arts, design, media and technology courses, our computer labs dedicated to networks and programming with specialist technician support, plus there’s our purpose built Clinical Skills Suite with a fully functioning hospital ward, the most up to date radiography and imaging facilities, robots simulating all sorts of ailments from bee stings to heart attacks, a domestic living suite, counselling rooms, and a behavioural study suite.
We have a wide range of courses so we’re sure there will be something for you. We offer flexible ways of studying: full time, part time, online or through work. All of our postgraduate degrees start in September, but you can also start your degree in January. Click here for more information about postgraduate study.
Research plays a major role in supporting the teaching and learning at Derby.
We have 13 research centres and groups where staff and students can share the results of their work.
