Across the UK most vocational education for 16- to 19-year-olds has traditionally been provided by colleges of further education, and most large towns will have at least one ‘FE college’.
There are over 300 such colleges in the UK and most now provide some form of higher education – in some cases this has become enough for them to change their name to become colleges of further and higher education (CFHEs). It is rare for such colleges to provide postgraduate programmes, however, so they do not feature much in this website.
