University of York library is having a £20million refurbishment
The library at the University of York has entered the final stages of its £20m refurbishment. This will result in a world-class study environment for students, staff and researchers.
The refurbed facilities include areas for quiet and silent study, individual studies for undergraduates and postgraduates and rooms for collaborative and group work. Most desks have power delivered to the desk top and all are wireless enabled.
The brand new entrance to the library will open on Monday 17th October opposite the bridge from Market Square.
The refurbishment project is scheduled to be completed in Spring 2012, when there will be a new Library Café with seating for 70 people and free wifi throughout.
