The School of Environment & Life Sciences is housed in the majestic Peel Building at the heart of the campus, adjacent to the main Library, Students’ Union and Sports Centre (complete with climbing wall and swimming pool).
We have more than 40 academic staff, many of whom are nationally - and internationally - known for their research expertise, which helps keep our course content up to date.
Lecture theatres and teaching rooms have been upgraded, including fully networked computer suites and widespread wi-fi, and we also have recently-refurbished laboratories and well-equipped field sites.

The School is home to internationally known groups that span the various research disciplines our staff are engaged in.
There are brand new postgraduate work and social areas, and also recently refurbished research laboratories, which contain state-of-the-art equipment and instrumentation purchased with over £2 million pounds of government Science Research Infrastructure Funds (SRIF).
