University of Nottingham launches massive fundraising campaign

The University of Nottingham has reinforced its commitment to providing quality education for all as part of its biggest ever fundraising campaign.

Under the motto ‘Inspire students. Enhance opportunities. Help transform lives’, the University of Nottingham is planning to fund more scholarships, widen participation further and raise aspirations among young people.

The projects will form part of ‘Impact: The Nottingham Campaign’, which will raise £150m to support The University of Nottingham’s vision to change lives, tackle global issues and shape the future.

This campaign was launched on Monday 17th October, and the purpose of it is to fund an even more diverse student body, provide a richer student experience, transform research programmes and help the University of Nottingham to make an even greater contribution to the global communities it serves.

On the eve of the launch the Vice-Chancellor at The University of Nottingham, Professor David Greenaway, revealed that over £50m has already been raised through generous donations both large and small from alumni and business. He said: “The University of Nottingham was founded on the vision and generosity of Jesse Boot. He believed that a pioneering spirit and academic achievement were the key to a better society. Today his vision stands firm and these deep philanthropic roots continue to nourish the University’s uniquely global growth and worldwide impact.”
