Finish: Thursday 11th November 2010 at 20:00
The University of East Anglia (UEA) is hosting an open evening on Thursday 11th November for anyone interested in a career as a secondary school teacher - programmes start in September 2011.
During the open evening you will get the opportunity to meet representatives in the following subjects to give advice about teaching 11 to 18-year-olds: English, Geography, History, Mathematics, Modern Foreign Languages, Physical Education, Religious Education and Science (with specialism in Biology, Chemistry or Physics).
UEA is one of the UK’s top teacher training institutions - its courses were given an "outstanding" grade by Ofsted this year, receiving the highest possible rating in every area.
UEA offers the one-year, full-time PGCE training route. The PGCE course is assessed against Masters level criteria - leading to Qualified Teacher Status and 60 credits at Masters level.
Caroline Still, admissions tutor for the secondary PGCE course says, 'UEA has consistently been regarded as one of the best teacher education providers in the country. Teaching is not an easy option, but making such a positive impact on children's lives is both exciting and extremely rewarding. Teaching offers considerable job security and excellent opportunities for personal and professional development.'
Location: Thomas Paine Study Centre, followed by the School of Education and Lifelong Learning.
