Overview
Dundee UniversityThe origins of the University of Dundee go back to 1881, with the founding of University College, Dundee. The College then had a 70-year relationship with the University of St Andrews before it became an independent institution in 1967. It is now a firmly established university, with a world-class reputation in teaching and research.

The University of Dundee has over 18,000 students, supported by over 3000 staff. Sixteen percent of the University’s students are international, coming from over 80 countries worldwide. We pride ourselves on providing outstanding support for international studentsand, according to the latest International Student Barometer (autumn 2009), 88% are satisfied or very satisfied with the support they receive from Dundee.

With over 200 taught postgraduate coursesto choose from, you’re sure to find something to set you on the right path. More of our students graduate into the professions than from any other Scottish university and 96% are in employment or further study six months after graduation. Dundee graduates command one of the highest starting salaries in the UK - in a national survey, only Oxbridge graduates came out ahead (source: HESA).

The campus boasts state-of-the-art teaching facilities, library, accommodation, sportsand social areas, creating a sense of community and a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.  Everything you need can be found on campus, although the attractions of the city - including a vibrant music scene, galleries, cinemas and theatre - are only a few minutes away.

The University of Dundee’s dedicated careers serviceprovides support in areas such as career guidance, applications and interviews. It also runs the UK's first Internship Graduate Certificate which offers graduates a six-month placement with a high-profile employer in Scotland.

The City of Dundee
Compared to other Scottish cities, Dundeeboasts more sunshine, lower rainfall and a warmer climate due to its sheltered location on the coast. The majority of students live on or near the campus and benefit from easy access to Scotland’s beautiful countryside. The University is centrally located and easily accessible - Edinburgh International airport is only an hour away.
