University of Bolton lecturer becomes President of the Chartered Institute for Architectural Technologies

Colin Orr, Senior Lecturer at the University of Bolton, has been voted in as the President of the Chartered institute for Architectural Technologies (CIAT). The CIAT represents over 9,500 professionals who work and study in the field of Architectural Technology across the UK as well as overseas.

Colin Orr took up his new position of President at the close of the Institute's Annual General Meeting in Guernsey on Saturday 30th October 2010. He is the course leader at the University of Bolton's School of Built Environment and Engineering, and is a well-respected figure within the industry of Architectural Technology. According to CIAT, his work at the University of Bolton has helped enhance the university's reputation as one of the premier institutions for this field of study.

Commenting on his new position at CIAT, Colin says, 'I am honoured to have been nominated and elected as the next President of CIAT. As the Institute's international recognition continues I look forward to strengthening relationships with like minded organisations overseas and creating an extended Architectural Technology community.'

Colin has been an active member of CIAT for a number of years.  Before being elected to prestigious position of President, he was the Vice-President of Education and had held this position for seven years, cementing CIAT's dedication to higher education.
