The College of Arts and Law is home to over 1500 postgraduate students, that’s why we have a dedicated College of Arts and Law Graduate School.
Our postgraduate students benefit from a vibrant, international community, excellent research resources and a supportive environment that allows research to flourish.
Located at the main Edgbaston campus, the dedicated space encourages interaction amongst disciplines and fields of research so you’ll be amongst like minded people, giving you the stimulation, support and challenges you need to succeed.
Programmes
We have 6 Schools in our College offering a wide range of taught and research programmes. You can study full and part time with some classes taught on a weekend or on a residential basis.
We offer interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary programmes so you don’t have to have previously studied in that area and you can study across a range of subjects allowing you to specialise in the area you want. One of our key strengths is the interdisciplinary nature of the research that takes place across the College.

In the 2010-11 University world rankings, published by Times Higher Education, Arts and Humanities at the University of Birmingham was ranked in the top 50. This was based on many factors including the quality of our teaching and research strengths so you know you’ll be learning from experts.
