UEA has research opportunities in Social Work and Psychology

The University of East Anglia is to host an open evening on Wednesday 21st April from 6.30pm - 8pm for people interested in developing their child and family research skills.

The School of Social Work and Psychology at UEA offers two postgraduate degree programmes which combine research methods training with the study of children and families, their development, roles, and social contexts. In these programmes the students will be prepared to conduct an independent research project on a topic of their choice.

The MA Child and Family Research focuses on a social work and/or social policy-oriented approach, with projects supervised by experienced child and family researchers. The MSc Child and Family Psychology focuses on understanding psychological approaches to the child and family, with the research project supervised by a psychologist accredited by the British Psychological Society.

Both programmes encourage an international and cross-cultural approach to child and family patterns and well-being, and both courses are offered either as one year full-time or two year part-time degrees.

Professor Gill Schofield, co-director of UEA's Centre for Research on the Child and Family says, 'These programmes offer a valuable opportunity to gain skills and knowledge and to focus on issues that will affect policy and practice for children and families into the future.'

The University of East Anglia is hosting the open evening at the Elizabeth Fry Building, UEA.
