The University of Bolton launches new online programmes
The University of Bolton is launching a range of online undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Business and Computing in October.
The first online programmes to be launched are: BA (Hons) Business Management, BSc (Hons) Computing, MBA and MSc Information Technology. They are all being launched under the name BoltOnline
Four more online programmes are being planned for next year, along with some professional and short-courses.
Through BoltOnline, the University of Bolton will be offering students live, two-way communication and the ability to talk in real time to their tutor, or other students, over the internet.
Dr Peter Marsh, the Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Bolton says, 'The launch of BoltOnline represents an important strategic development for the University. It places the University in a position to offer students a range of flexible study options, allowing students to move easily between online provision and any of our other programmes delivered face-to-face under the current partnerships provided in the UK and in locations around the world. These currently include Germany, India, Hong Kong, Malaysia, RAK, Russia and Vietnam.'
Dr Marsh continues, 'The Unviersity of Bolton has an established international reputation for the research work it does into online learning, through its Institute for Cybernetics. While we have online learning within our microelectronics courses this is a new development and one which aims to considerably advance our online learning portfolio. In this way students will be able to really experience the debate and discussions, all considered to be distinctive features of the British degree.'
