The University of Exeter is a well respected and popular university with an excellent research record. Within the College of Humanities, 91 per cent of the research was recently assessed as either of world-leading or of international quality.
For those wishing to start their postgraduate programmes in October 2011, The university is offering the following PhD studentships.
Up to 28 AHRC PhD studentships in the following subjects:
Archaeology
Classics and Ancient History
History
Religious Studies
Film Studies and Television Studies
Film, Digital and Media Production
English Language and Literature
Creative Writing
French Language and Culture
Dance, Drama and Performing Arts
Medical Humanities
Digital Humanities
Gender and Sexuality
Environment, Sustainability and Climate Change
Studentships cover fees and a maintenance grant at the standard rate (UK residents only).
Up to 6 PhD Studentships for international students:
Available across all subjects at the College of Humanities which includes: Archaeology; Classics and Ancient History; Drama; English; Film Studies; History; Modern Languages; Theology and Religion.
The studentships cover full fees and a UK Research Council equivalent maintenance grant.
One Leventis funded PhD Studentship:
In Classics and Ancient History, with the research topic The impact of Greek on non-Greek culture (in ancient area of ancient culture). Open to both UK and international students.
The studentships cover full fees and a UK Research Council equivalent maintenance grant.
Up to 7 AHRC Masters Studentships:
Covering Masters programmes in Classics and Ancient History, History, Film Studies, English and Drama.
The awards will comprise tuition fees and maintenance for students from the UK and full tuition fees only for students from the EU.
