Sandeep Roy, from Secunderabad in India, graduated with a commerce degree from Hyderabad. He is now studying an MA Creative Digital Media at the Teesside University. "I wanted to gain an in-depth knowledge of computer animation and games, so I decided to study at a higher level. It’s an area I’ve always wanted to study."

"I learnt so many new things, particularly while studying Computer Animation Production and 3D Content Creation for Games. Other modules included Digital Media Development and the Animation Group Project – it was a lot of fun working with other students. The project for our group animation was to make a 60-second animated film. I was the animator as well as doing the set design and lighting."

Sandeep is now working on his dissertation on animation plus a short animated film for his final project.

He would certainly recommend Teesside and his master’s degree. "The University has a lot of facilities for the computing students - it’s amazing! And I’ve gained an enormous amount of knowledge from this course."

"I would give the campus and student services five out of five. I stayed in King Edward’s Square – I think it’s the best accommodation a student can get. My social life has been absolutely brilliant. It’s perfect for a student as all the shops and clubs are close by and, most importantly, the cost of living is quite reasonable here."

"The highlight for me is the kind of experience that I have gained over the year. Living away from my family is pretty difficult but I am fortunate enough to have good friends here – it takes the edge off and feels more like home away from home."

When he graduates, Sandeep hopes to get a job as an animator, either in games or for an animation studio. "I am willing work to anywhere... as long as the pay is good!"
