To encourage and reward postgraduate students, Middlesex University offers a growing suite of postgraduate scholarships that the Independent newspaper recently described as ‘stupendous’. The Chancellor's Scholarships, for example, are open to all students (international and UK/EU students) and reward academic, sporting or community/cultural excellence with awards of up to £2,000 for full-time students (pro-rata for part-time students). If you have excelled in any of the following areas, we would encourage you to apply today as this scholarship closes on 22 June 2009:
Award for academic achievement: You must have achieved excellent results in your exams, performances or similar academic projects in an area related to your degree.
Award for sporting achievement: As well as being academically qualified for entry, you must be at least a member of a national squad, youth team or elite sports club. Sports coaching and management achievements are also taken into consideration.
Award for community/cultural activity: Applicants for a community/cultural activity award must be academically qualified for entry to the University, and must have contributed significantly to substantial community/cultural projects. The cultural/community scholarship is awarded for one year of study only, though students are welcome to reapply in subsequent years of study.
The University is also committed to supporting current Middlesex students who are planning to progress to postgraduate study. The Alumni Bursary offers Middlesex alumni a 10% fee waiver when they progress to a postgraduate programme, and this year the University has also introduced an Academic Alumni Scholarship. This scholarship provides a 20% tuition fee waiver to Middlesex alumni who have achieved first class honours. There has never been a better time to study at Middlesex.
