QMUL amongst Top 5 UK universities to study linguistics at
The Independent's Complete University Guide 2011 has rated Queen Mary, University of London in the top five places in the UK to study linguistics.
The guide gave QMUL an overall score of 95.4 out of 100, positioning Linguistics at Queen Mary ahead of York, Lancaster and Sheffield and just behind Edinburgh and Cambridge.
Head of Linguistics at Queen Mary, Professor David Adger says, 'Our approach to linguistics also connects the best of the social sciences and the humanities. This means our students are well prepared for a world which needs people who can not only analyse complex data, but also communicate it well.'
The results of the guide reflect a combination of criteria categories, including student satisfaction, research quality, average UCAS entry points and the percentage of graduates undertaking further study or employment six months after graduating.
Queen Mary, University of London, also rose in The Independent’s overall poll of 115 UK universities, from 43rd to 39th place.
