Plymouth College of Art announces new postgraduate bursaries

Plymouth College of Art has announced a postgraduate bursary scheme for the new range of MA courses in Creative Practices for Sustainability, Critical and Curatorial Practice or Entrepreneurship for Creative Practice.

These exciting new masters programmes have been designed to focus on skill building, activating research and creative exploration.

The postgraduate bursary scheme is open to all candidates applying to start one of these two-year part-time MA courses in September 2011. Those who successfully apply for the bursary will receive a fixed fee reduction of up to 50% off their tuition fees for the full duration of their studies.

The bursaries will be awarded according to the quality of potential candidate’s creative practice, their motivation, their financial need and the quality of their bursary application.

Karin Jordan, Interim Programme Leader MA Entrepreneurship for Creative Practice, says, “The exciting announcement of this generous bursary scheme represents a fantastic opportunity for anyone who wishes to study at postgraduate level at Plymouth College of Art. It will ensure that the most promising and talented creative individuals are not deterred from furthering their studies for financial reasons.”

For September 2011 entry the tuition fees stand at £4,800 which is split into 24 monthly instalments of £200. For Plymouth College of Arts students and Alumni the fees are reduced to £4,000, split into instalments of £200 per month over 20 months. One third of the total bursary can be claimed in the first year and two thirds in the second year. This means that students receiving the bursary will receive up to £800 in the first year and £1600 in the second year towards fees, guaranteed for the full two-year duration.

Leonie Beaglehole, Head of Marketing, said: “Anyone who is thinking about applying for one of our excellent MA programmes at Plymouth College of Art but who is perhaps concerned about the financial implications should definitely complete a bursary application form. There is nothing to lose in applying but potentially a lot to gain.”

The deadline for application is midday on Wednesday 24th August 2011.
