Teaching excellence
We offer a diverse range of diverse range of taught postgraduate courses, designed to develop your knowledge and professional skills.

You will be working with some outstanding academics within their chosen field, often with strong links within their industry or profession. Research findings are fed back directly into teaching so you will benefit from the latest thinking.

You will receive lots of guidance from your course leader and personal tutor. There is plenty of other support available including our confidential study advice service (Upgrade) and free English language classes.

Research excellence
Over 75% of our research has been internationally recognised in the latest UK governments Research Assessment Exercise. With some subjects in the arts, sciences, health, law and education judged world-leading.

Interdisciplinary research is actively promoted across subject areas and through schemes such as our doctoral training programmes.

Our research is shaped by strong partnerships with universities – both in the UK and elsewhere – and with leading organisations and industries.

A great student city
A quarter of Oxford’s population are students so the city is the perfect place to study. It is big enough to offer something for everyone, yet small enough to feel welcoming and accessible.

The city’s many museums and galleries, like the Ashmolean, are world famous and there is a range of theatres, cinemas and live music venues, as well as parks and scenic riverside walks. The city is full of restaurants and cafes, so you will find plenty of places to eat and relax. You’ll also find a great nightlife, with plenty of bars and nightclubs on offer.

London is only one hour away by train and there are also cheap and frequent coach services between Oxford and the capital, running 24 hours a day. Oxford’s central location makes it a great base for exploring other parts of the UK.

Because Oxford is one of the world’s leading academic cities you will benefit from the unrivalled learning resources. Postgraduate students at Oxford Brookes have access to the world-renowned Bodleian Library, and the city is a key centre of debate, with conferences, seminars and forums taking place across many subjects.

Campus life
Our three Oxford campuses all include libraries, 24-hour computer rooms, places to meet, eat and socialise.

With more than 40 sports clubs available, there is something for everyone, offering a great way to socialise and make friends as well as keeping fit. Our sports facilities include a swimming pool, climbing wall, golf course and fitness studios as well as sports halls, indoor courts and outdoor pitches for a range of activities.

A new hall of residence exclusively for postgraduate and mature students has recently opened. You can also apply for accommodation with postgraduate students in our other halls. All bedrooms have internet access and the halls have supervisors, wardens and security staff to help make your stay trouble free.

The Brookes Bus network links the campuses, halls of residence and city centre – a bus pass for the network is included in the accommodation fees.

Our Students Union is home to over 80 student societies - a great way to meet students with similar interests or try out something new. These include an active Postgraduate Society, course based societies and groups for those with a shared religious or political belief or cultural background.
