Building on Leicester Business School’s recent top 10 ranking in the Sunday Times Good University Guide, a brand new £35 million building for the Faculty of Business and Law at De Montfort University (DMU) is due to open in September 2009. It will help realise our aim to be the top school for Business and Law in the region.
This is one of the most exciting building projects ever undertaken at DMU, transforming the Leicester City Campus. The scheme has not only seen the construction of a state-of-the-art new Faculty of Business and Law building, but also the creation of a tree-lined pedestrian plaza to be known as Magazine Square.
If you begin your studies with the Faculty in 2009 then you will be amongst the first students to use the impressive new facilities, such as the state-of-the-art lecture theatres, meeting rooms, break-out rooms, mock law court and integrated law library. There will also be a bespoke Postgraduate and Professional suite and the latest in ICT facilities. In addition, there are also public atriums and ‘winter gardens’ to allow natural light and air into the building. The building also houses retail units including a café and a bookshop to create social space as well as a working environment.
With the new building due to open in September 2009, we are very much looking forward to the dawn of a new age for the Faculty. We hope you will be part of it!
