Applications are now being accepted for the new MSc Marketing Management course which begins in September 2009. The MSc will explore the leading marketing strategy and research techniques that enable the discipline to deliver more strategic results, whilst maintaining a strong ethical focus.
One of the few courses to be nationally accredited by the Market Research Society, MSc Marketing Management will focus on the role that robust marketing research can play in influencing product and service development at an embryonic stage – enabling more intelligent boardroom decisions to be taken. Students at Liverpool Hope will be amongst the first in the country to use cutting-edge DecisionPro © software.
David Bamber, course director, said: 'If you are able to make better-informed decisions at the early stages of a product’s development, you will reduce your margin of error and ultimately save your company time and money.
However, the results of using state-of-the-art quantitative and qualitative marketing research techniques alone are not enough.
As well as understanding marketing theory, modern businesses require mangers that are able to apply the firm ethical principles which will be demanded more and more in the post-credit crunch global marketplace.
By both understanding and applying that complex mix of values, evidence and marketing theory, our graduates will be set to take this discipline into the heart of the "international boardroom".'
Modules within the MSc Marketing Management course include:
- Marketing Management, which will study the roles and structure of the marketing function and the relationships with other functions in different types of organisations.
- International Marketing, which will study how social, cultural, legal, technological and political issues influence business in the foreign markets.
- Marketing Science, which will teach students to use state-of-the-art software and cutting-edge research techniques to deal appropriately with marketing practices.
- Global Business Ethics, which will study corporate social responsibility, corporate governance and ethics and morality in business.
