Leeds Trinity is promoting health and happiness in the community

Leeds Trinity University College is hosting a debate on health, happiness and wellbeing on Wednesday 18th May called “Health and happiness: What matters, who cares?”. The purpose of this event is to show how the university is planning to promote health and wellbeing in the community. It will also demonstrate what study opportunities are available at Leeds Trinity in this area.

The event is being coordinated by Dr Rosie Connell, Associate Principal Lecturer in Sport, Health and Nutrition. She says, “Research tells us that happiness involves connecting with people, being active, being curious, learning something new and doing something for others. Leeds Trinity offers such opportunities not only to staff and students but to our local community as well.”

The event will also showcase the sport and fitness facilities on campus that are open for use by the whole community.

Speakers include Andrew Walsh, HR Director of the Pensions Trust, Leeds, who is a strong advocate of the importance of staff wellbeing, and local GP Dr Paul Robinson.

“Health and happiness: What matters, who cares?” takes place at Leeds Trinity University College, Brownberrie Lane, Horsforth, LS18 5HD on Wednesday 18 May from 7pm until 9pm.

This event is free of charge and open to everybody, you can reserve a place by contacting Julie Wadsworth on 0113 283 7100 x 348 or email j.wadsworth@leedstrinity.ac.uk.
