Leeds Met film facilities to be showcased
This open day - which is going to run from 2pm-5pm - will be held at the Film School’s base at the Electric Press in the heart of Leeds. Potential students will get the opportunity to meet the MA Filmmaking course leaders, specialist lecturers and current students, as well as having a tour of the School. The MA Filmmaking is supported by three mentors, who are working filmmakers: Nicolas Roeg, writer Tony Grisoni, and producer Robin Gutch; and it is taught by practicing filmmakers with a great deal of independent film production experience. The programme is designed for professionals who are looking for challenging projects and more interesting collaborators – and anyone with a passion for film and telling stories. Areas explored include narrative film, documentary, experimental film, music videos, commercials and dance for film. Jennifer Granville, Course Leader and Principal Lecturer, says, ' We are inviting any curious, prospective students to come along to the open day to find out what the excitement is all about. If you’re a practicing filmmaker or professional and you’d like to enrich your understanding of what you do; if you have some film experience and are an accountant who wants to be a creative producer; if you took a 'sensible' degree and now are ready to explore acting on screen; if you have a great piece of work and a lot of enthusiasm then this course could be for you.' To register for the open day, please contact Jess Owens on J.Owens@leedsmet.ac.uk or call 0113 812 8019. Click here for further information. Looking for funding for postgraduate studies in 2011?
