The Political Science and International Studies (POLSIS) Department at the University of Birmingham has announced that the number of bursaries for students entering taught postgraduate programmes in September 2008 has been increased to ten. Six bursaries of £3,000 each will be available to international students, and four bursaries of £1,000 each will be available to 'home' students (those from the UK and European Union).
The recipients of the bursaries will be announced on 16 August 2008, and those wishing to be considered should submit their full application to the POLSIS Department by 12 July 2008. All applicants to the Department’s programmes are eligible to enter the bursary competition, provided that they are not already in receipt of a scholarship from an alternative funding source, including other sources at the University of Birmingham. The final decision on who receives the bursaries will be made on scholarly merit. Visit the POLSIS Department's website for more information about the postgraduate bursaries.
The University of Birmingham has a number of scholarships available to postgraduate students, which cover both research and taught programmes and assist with the cost of tuition fees. The awards are made based on applicants' academic performance, and the number of University scholarships available varies from year to year. Visit the University of Birmingham's website for further information.
