IE appoints Visiting Professor for world's first business course for architects

The Chairman of Wordsearch, Peter Murray, has been appointed Visiting Professor for the Masters in Architectural Management and Design at IE Business School - this is the world's first ever business course for architects.

The Masters Degree in Architectural Management and Design has been designed by Madrid's IE University School of Architecture, and the IE Business School. Young architects from Canada, Russia, Syria, Germany, Uruguay, Mexico and Spain will attend the course over the next 13 months, part on-campus in London and Madrid and partly online.

Wordsearch is a marketing communications company specialising in iconic architecture and tall buildings.

Mr Murray, who will be teaching Design and Business Communication starting this semester, says, “Last year saw the completion of more tall buildings than any other year in history, each posing specific issues, challenges and opportunities in selling the space contained within. This course has been designed with the current business climate in mind and aims to develop the business skills of architects in practice to properly bring new buildings to the market.” He continues, “After training as an architect, I dedicated my career to the communication of architecture rather than in its construction. This teaching position is a very rare opportunity to pass on skills that I have built up over the years - there’s something very special about being the first professor on the subject."

IE Business School is recognised as one of the top ten business schools in the world.
