According to a recently released report by Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) the University of Gloucestershire finds itself ranked 8th out of 160 Higher Education institutions in percentage of recent graduates employed. This substantial ranking marks the University of Gloucestershire as one of the leading universities in terms of graduate employability with almost 97 per cent of graduates finding employment upon course completion.
The University’s commendable position has garnered praise amongst faculty and administrators including, Clare Morris, Dean of Student Experience & Quality Enhancement: “The University's excellent showing in this league table comes as a welcome confirmation of both the quality of our graduates and the relevance of our programmes. Unusually by comparison with many universities, our careers section is an integral part of the learning and teaching area. I think this, together with the emphasis we place in programme development on currency of the curriculum and professional accreditation where appropriate, helps to give our graduates the edge in a very competitive job market.”
The University’s Careers Centre plays an a crucial role in providing help and guidance to students when planning their career path. Head of Careers, Nicki Castello, highlights several key areas which enhance students' reputations when it comes to establishing a career: “To be employable, our graduates need good degrees, work experience and career management skills. Many of our students have a head start because of the placements they undertake as part of their degree programme.”
