The Arts and Humanities Council (AHRC) recently awarded the University of Exeter a historically large number of funding grants for postgraduate study. The University was awarded a five year Block Grant Partnership of 119 postgraduate awards worth over £4.2 million. This substantial increase in funding will help expand skill and experience in relevant academic fields for the next 5 years.
Dr Michael Wykes, the Research and Knowledge Transfer Manager from the University of Exeter commented, ‘We have secured a total of 119 awards: 76 Doctoral Awards, 33 Research Preparation Masters, and 10 Professional Preparation Masters. This represents not only the achievement of our previous historic number of awards, but actually an improvement on them, which is a significant success.’
Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Research, Professor Robert Van de Noort said, ‘The AHRC award comes at a time when the University is rapidly expanding its postgraduate activity and when the number of applications to do MA’s and PhD’s at Exeter continues to grow rapidly.’
