Edge Hill prepares its students for the workplace

University logoEdge Hill University is making sure that its graduates are ready to enter the workplace by building links with local employers and offering work placement opportunities for around 80% of its students.

Edge Hill’s placement programme boosts the job prospects of students by placing them directly in touch with employers and provides an insight into particular professions. During this time students undertake a project of strategic value to that organization. It allows students to demonstrate what they have gained from their study and allows them to show some UK work experience on their CV when applying for jobs.

At Edge Hill we have links with many employers such as NHS, Enterprise, Lancashire Social Services, WH Smith and the local police. We are constantly establishing new relationships with local employers who enjoy offering work placement opportunities and those interested in placing our student volunteers.

Edge Hill holds careers fairs throughout the year attended by over 60 organisations offering graduate jobs, part-time vacancies, volunteering and work experience opportunities. Our fairs provide essential career information and an opportunity for employers to recruit enthusiastic students who are seeking work after graduation.
