The learning experience
I enjoyed my experience at Edge Hill thoroughly. The teachers are of a very high standard and monitored and advised me at every step of my training. The teaching methods are varied so it never seemed monotonous and therefore I had fun learning. The environment at Edge Hill is very relaxed, with a healthy atmosphere. International students are warmly welcomed and are offered the same benefits as, and treated equally to, other students. The classrooms are spacious and well equipped.
During my PGCE I had the privilege to complete my teaching placements at three unique and successful schools where my mentors, along with my teachers, were very supportive and adept at guiding me. They also gave me the opportunity to work independently and demonstrate the skills I have learnt during my education, as well as in my own work as a web developer.
First teaching job
For my newly qualified teacher (NQT) year, I have been offered a job at a prestigious school in Milton Keynes. I was offered this job at my first interview. I feel this is partly because of the high standard of teaching and training offered at Edge Hill, which will undoubtedly impress any employer.
I would recommend Edge Hill to any student, especially international students, so that they can benefit from a world-class education and training for potential teachers. I am sure that they will enjoy their time as much as I have done.

“After graduating from university in Mumbai in 2003 I spent a number of years working as an assistant manager, however I felt that I needed a further career boost. I really wanted to climb the ladder and I knew that studying an MBA overseas would certainly enhance my CV and make me more attractive to employers – either in India or on an international level.
“I’d never been to the UK before and received many offers to study here however I finally decided on Edge Hill after looking at the Hi website. I was looking for somewhere to really focus and put in some hard work and the campus at Edge Hill has really allowed me to do that.
“I live in the halls of residence on campus which means I have all that I need close to hand. The surroundings are just amazing as there’s a great mix of beautiful scenery and modern buildings – in particular, the new Business School building. I often work as a Student Guide, showing prospective students around campus and it’s clear that being able to study in the new building is a real incentive for them to enrol here.
“As for the MBA itself the sessions are really enjoyable and the tutors are incredibly supportive and understanding of the pressures we are under – not just as students but students who are new to the UK. I’m one of a number of international students studying a programme in the Business School and the tutors are always on hand to offer advice and guidance, whatever the issue.
“My aim is to become a Business Development Manager and I’ve already started applying for jobs in the UK. Studying at Edge Hill has certainly been a great experience and I wouldn’t change a single thing.”

“I decided to study at Edge Hill University after visiting a British University Exhibition in Lagos State, Nigeria. I have been studying and working in the financial industry for just over 4 years. I had always enjoyed the elements of business marketing; I came to study my MBA at Edge Hill and develop my marketing skills. “
“I chose the UK because of its superior education system. Since being a student of Edge Hill I have learned to give professional presentations which enhances my speech and communication skills. The enormous support I receive from the “Edge Ahead” team in adapting to UK educational system has been great in making me an all well rounded professional .”
“I enjoy challenges, and I found the MBA course work to be rich enough to keep me focus; it’s practical and correlates with real business experiences. Now that I have been taught the appropriate skills needed to prevail, I know I will achieve success in any business. “
“I also feel that the level of support was more than I could ever ask for. The Edge Hill staff makes me feel secure and has given me the confidence to perform well, even though I am so far from home. My course assignments are assessed when needed, and the International Officers are always willing to give advice on any type of issue; i.e., financial, and immigration.”
