Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design wins major prize

The Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design (DJCAD) at the University of Dundee has won a prestigious prize.

DJCAD's 2011 Dundee Degree Show was named best educational event at the UK Event Awards at Wembley Stadium on Wednesday 30th November.

The college was praised for their exhibition which showcased the artwork of 300 final year students.

The Dean at DJCAD, Tom Inns, said, "To do this, the quality of the Degree Show had to be outstanding, so this is great recognition for the work of everyone involved."

The 2011 Dundee Degree Show was attended by over 10,500 visitors over 10 days - including Turner Prize Winner Susan Philipsz and the Co-Founder of Pixar, Alvy Ray Smith. 98% of visitors stated that they enjoyed the exhibition and 98% said that they would recommend the show to a friend.

The 2012 Dundee Degree Show will take place 18th-27th May 2012.
