De Montfort University

De Montfort UniversityDe Montfort University (DMU) is a university of quality and distinctiveness. Internationally renowned research inspires innovative teaching and is supported by dynamic international partnerships and vibrant links with local and national industry.

Highly employable postgraduates
DMU puts great emphasis on meeting the needs of businesses, and has extremely employable postgraduates. Within six months, 97 per cent are in employment or further study, earning an average salary of £37,000 (Destination of Leavers from Higher Education report 2008/09). Lecturers' strong links with industry, and courses designed for employers mean that graduates work for companies including the BBC, Rolls Royce, The Daily Telegraph, and Microsoft.

Discover the possibilities in areas including the creative industries, sustainability, management, law and criminology, and IT. Whether it is professional development or to change career, DMU offers full-time, part-time or distance learning courses. Many offer work placements, ensuring you graduate with the practical skills and experience required by employers.

World-leading research
The university's world-leading research directly influences your teaching. Innovative projects merge music and software design, or architecture and energy efficiency. Other research crosses traditional boundaries, such as designing new hospital wards, sustainable retail design, and developing local and national health policy.

The university's research has significant impact in the commercial and public sectors, as it is usually carried out with local and national government bodies, the NHS, small businesses, and global multinationals.

Facilities
DMU's continued investment has resulted in professional facilities like the Hugh Aston Building for Business and Law, the Creative Technology Studios, and the Performance Arts Centre for Excellence building. The Kimberlin Library is open 24 hours a day, and three learning zones offer quiet space to study and practise presentations.

Postgraduates can use the 'postgraduate pod' in the Hugh Aston Building or the graduate centre in the Clephan Building. Investment on campus is ongoing, with a new sports centre featuring a swimming pool, climbing wall, café and more.
