The Centre for Excellence in Creative and Performing Arts at Queen’s University Belfast brings together innovative and inspirational teaching and learning approaches from across the creative and performing arts spectrum. It offers an exciting Postgraduate Diploma/Certificate in Creative Performance beginning in January 2010 and a unique MA in Interdisciplinary Arts.
The Postgraduate Diploma/Certificate in Creative Performance promises an eclectic, flexible, intensive and highly practical approach to performer training, with an emphasis on devised and ensemble work. Benefiting from teaching by visiting artists and industry experts, students will be equipped with skills for a wide-range of performance-making careers, from acting in plays to setting up their own performance companies.
The MA in Interdisciplinary Arts brings together students from a range of arts disciplines, who undertake modules in core subjects such as drama, film studies, anthropological studies, music, sonic arts and creative writing. A unique part of the course is that all the students are brought together for a series of ‘Adventures’. Asked to meet at a specific location – maybe on campus, or maybe in an old disused building or an open space – students embark upon a journey into the unknown.
