Cranfield University has appointed a Visiting Professor of Creative Design

A global innovation expert has been appointed Visiting Professor at Cranfield University. Professor Roy Sandbach, who is a Research Fellow with the Procter & Gamble Company (P&G), has been appointed Visiting Professor of Creative Design at Cranfield University.

Professor Sandbach has worked in Research and Development at Procter & Gamble for almost 30 years. His career has spanned the global range of the company's product categories, as well as the breadth of innovative activities from new product development and prototyping to in-market execution of major initiatives and competitive activities.

Professor Sandbach has been heavily involved in the creation of Cranfield University's Centre for Competitive Creative Design and its multi-business innovation club, Aperto. He will be a key figure in the development of this initiative and provide valuable insight into the development of the Centre’s postgraduate programmes, which include the Master of Design (MDes) Design and Innovation for Sustainability and the MDes Innovation and Creativity in Industry.

Professor Simon Bolton, Head of C4D, says, ' We have a long history of collaboration with P&G through C4D and are thrilled to invite Professor Sandbach as Visiting Professor. His knowledge and insight will provide valuable insight to both partners and clients through Aperto, but also to our postgraduate students.'

Professor Sandbach commented, ' I have been thoroughly impressed with the way in which, with C4D, Cranfield has added a formal design capability to its array of world-class science, engineering and business capabilities. I am looking forward to helping to further establish C4D as a leader in consumer and brand driven design and to supporting the outstanding postgraduate programmes.'
