Cranfield MSc motorsport students to design sustainable rally car
The MSc in Motorsport Engineering and Management is currently celebrating its 10th year, and this challenge was presented as part of the group project element of the MSc programme. Six teams of students will use the engineering and management skills that they have developed during the taught part of the MSc programme to develop solutions to the challenge. They will be expected to cover elements such as power train (plug-in hybrid and full electric), overall packaging, system architecture, vehicle performance, energy storage and power sources, local environmental impact and safety, all working to a budget defined from their market analysis. The teams are competing for a prize for the best group project presentation sponsored by the Motor Sports Association (MSA), which will be presented on Wednesday 11th May 2011.
