City University London
School of Community and Health Sciences
Welcome to the School of Community and Health Sciences, City University London - a centre of educational excellence that meets the continuing and evolving needs of global health and community-related service provision. City University London’s School of Community and Health Sciences is dedicated to the education and development of professionals working in health and the community in London, the UK and worldwide.
We teach, practice and research in a wide range of postgraduate programmes – nursing, midwifery, radiography, language and communication science, optometry, public health, primary care, food policy, health management and interprofessional studies. Through these programmes, the School plays a leading role in the University’s mission to be a centre for imaginative, professional education and innovative research.
All of our postgraduate programmes start in September of each academic year, but some of our progammes have two or three intakes each year. Our admissions process is on a rolling basis throughout the year.
We also offer a range of professionally-focused study programmes for international students.
The qualifications our students attain through our postgraduate programmes meet the requirements of the United Kingdom occupational, vocational and professional bodies in all the disciplines we cover. The skilled practitioners at the School and the active research they are involved in bring a wealth of meaningful experience to our students’ postgraduate education.
Our location in the centre of London gives our students the opportunity to be part of a diverse and exciting community in which their work and their personal lives can thrive. And it allows both the School and our students to draw on the rich resources – intellectual, professional and cultural – that London has to offer.
Continuing professional development
We believe in lifelong learning: continuing study to develop and enhance careers and enrich personal lives. To offer every educational possibility to professionals, we have created a practical and flexible style of postgraduate study – from stand-alone modules to Masters and PhD programmes and research positions. Our aim is to allow students to fit in study around professional and personal commitments.
