The Guardian, Times Good University Guides and Complete University guide (2013) rank Cardiff Metropolitan University (UWIC) as the top “new” university in Wales, and amongst the top new universities in the UK with over 11,000 students from 143 different countries. The University was also ranked top in the UK for the overall quality of its International student support by the International student Barometer (ISB), for the last 5 years (2010 -2013).

We are the only university in the UK to be ranked in the top ten universities in all six subject areas covered by the Higher Education Academy’s Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PRES) 2009.

The centres offer applied research and consultancy to business, industry and government in the UK and worldwide. The work undertaken by these centres informs and influences the teaching on our courses. 

World-class facilities
Cardiff Met boasts world class facilities, which include the multi million pound, state-of-the-art Cardiff School of Management campus which was opened in September 2010. The university is continuing to invest in its facilities and recently announced plans to open a new 14million Arts and Design Building. Cardiff Met also offers world class academic and sporting facilities, including a National Indoor Athletics Centre and a dedicated world-leading Performance Analysis laboratory. Our students also benefit from a world-class library and IT resource centre and on campus accommodation.

Entry requirements for academic programmes differ from course to course. The University values both work experience and academic qualifications and will consider students from a wide range of academic backgrounds.
