Bournemouth University has begun a competition to search for 10 talented business professionals who will be given a fully funded MBA scholarship. The scholarship to study for an MBA at Bournemouth University’s Executive Business Centre is worth £14,000, and comes courtesy of a donation by the Harvard graduate, serial entrepreneur and visiting fellow, Dominic Marrocco.
Candidates are required to write a 1,000 word essay in support of their application as well as demonstrating at least 3 years of professional or management experience. 10 scholarships, covering all full-time tuition fees, will be awarded for the course that begins in September 2010.
Marrocco, who runs both property and IT businesses in the UK and USA as well as a venture capital fund, will become a mentor to the new MBA candidates. Having recently graduated from Harvard’s renowned business leadership programme, as well as his entrepreneurial success from a young age, Marrocco’s career is “one of inspiration, which tomorrow entrepreneurs can relate to” according to Professor Thomas Lange, Dean of Bournemouth University’s Business School.
“Looking back at my experiences, successes and the lessons learnt, it is now my passion to pass on this knowledge and am delighted to be involved with building the next generation of business leaders” said Marrocco when speaking about his scholarships.
