Bangor plans to build new Arts and Innovation Centre

The plans for an exciting and ambitious new arts centre to replace the Theatre Gwynedd and the Students' Union buildings at Bangor Univrsity have been announced.

Designs ranging in cost between £25m to £30m have been developed by the architects of the award-winning Wales Millennium Centre, Capita Percy Thomas.

It will include substantially improved arts facilities for the whole community including a theatre, lecture theatres, exhibition spaces, bar and café. There is also provision for an external amphitheatre that could be used for some performances.

The arts and creative industries will be able to work side-by-side with science and technology experts to develop innovative performances as well as new skills and jobs in the local area.
