BI Norwegian School of Management Placements at Oslo Innovation Centre

As part of BI’s Master’s degree in Innovation and Entrepreneurship, 13 students have been given placements with 10 different start-up enterprises at Oslo Innovation Centre.  The students have been helping the companies to achieve success within the international market through assisting with commercialisation.  The tasks the students undertake include finding distributors, preparing business and market plans, persuading investors and doing market research.

The internships were listed among student’s wish lists when they undertook the degree as they provide a unique opportunity to match academic work with real-life practical work experience.  “This is a unique opportunity for us to learn more about technology innovation and how to set up one’s own business. We will get an excellent overview of the full picture – without taking any risks ourselves,” said Robert Ivan, a student on the course.

“There is a growing need for innovation. More and more companies base their competitiveness on their ability to be the first to bring new products and solutions to the market. The advantage of our study programme and the internship is that the students are given an in-depth experience of financial and other aspects they need to master to make good ideas commercially viable,” says BI principal, Tom Colbjørnsen.

The internships take place during the summer semester, and counted for 12 credits of the Master’s degree.  During the placement BI will give academic supervision, and an examination will be taken at the end.  English speaking students are encouraged to apply.
