Anglia Ruskin University has a history dating back to 1858, and in 2008 we celebrated our 150th Anniversary. The University is based in the city centres of Cambridge and Chelmsford in the East of England, less than 45 minutes from the centre of London.

Almost 20% of full time students at Anglia Ruskin are international, coming from all over the globe to study with us on a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses.

The historic county town of Chelmsford, just 30 minutes from London, boasts a brand new campus near the busy town centre. There are extensive parks and beautiful countryside as well as modern shopping centres and markets. The town has three theatres as well as being home to the internationally renowned ’V’ Music Festival.

Both Cambridge and Chelmsford were rated in the top ten best places to live in the UK last year, and Anglia Ruskin’s campuses are right in the centre of both cities, with state of the art learning, support, and recreational facilities.

Anglia Ruskin is proud to be ranked in the top ten in the UK for our Welcome, Arrival and Orientation Programme for new international students in the 2007/8 International Student Barometer, an independent survey of current international students at UK universities. In fact our students rated their experience so highly we came out top when comparing our students’ satisfaction against some very well known and internationally renowned British Universities based within East Anglia and London.

We know that many students see a degree as an important step on their career path, and that’s why we think a degree, both undergraduate and postgraduate, should not only enhance your subject knowledge, but also prepare you for the world of work and equip you with skills that will be useful throughout your career.

You’ll find that we have links to major professional bodies as well as many different companies – some courses even offer help with finding work placements during the summer months – so we know what employers are looking for.

As you reach the end of your time with us, our Careers & Employability Service is available to offer help and advice in planning your career and finding the right job for you. This service is free of charge to all Anglia Ruskin students and recent graduates, and can prove a valuable tool in choosing your first (or next) career move.

Anglia Ruskin’s focus on employability clearly gives excellent results as over 92% of our graduates are either employed or studying for a further qualification within six months of graduation and we are among the Sunday Times top 50 for graduate starting salaries.
